Work Shouldn’t Hurt

A series on special education

OSEA's landmark Work Shouldn't Hurt legal campaign addressed the toll on classified staff from difficult and sometimes dangerous student behavior. Starting with a series of investigative articles examining workplace violence by special needs students, it culminated in a new law and OSHA rules that were implemented in 2018. With the current education staffing crisis and the stress of the pandemic on both students and staff, this law is as relevant as ever.

OSEA Town Halls 2018

All OSEA members are invited to attend as OSEA President Tim Stoelb and Executive Director Rick Shidaker discuss the state of our union. They will update members on the current state of OSEA including our budget, membership counts, what we’re doing to control expenses and ongoing plans for member engagement opportunities this fiscal year.

All meetings are from 5–7 p.m.
