First Book heads to Eugene, Medford!

OSEA and First Book are teaming up with our Eugene and Medford chapters to bring a total of  40,000 new, high-quality books to Title I schools, students and classrooms in these areas.

The sorting and distribution events take place over the same two days in both cities, so OSEA will be quite busy as our members deliver literacy to their hometowns. All who pre-registered for First Book, as well as qualifying members of the public who register on site, are eligible to receive books.

First Book distribution and sorting events like the one pictured at Sweet Home Ch. 55 are a great way to build community and encourage literacy at the same time.

Children in need are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to reading ability, vocabulary and language development. These free books will help bridge this gap, ensuring all children have a real shot at becoming better readers.

Distribution and sorting events are as follows:

Where: Cesar Chavez Elementary School Cafeteria, 1510 W. 14th Ave., Eugene 97402
