First we march, then we vote!
Labor and progressive advocates marched on the Oregon State Capitol on Sunday, demanding respect for all working people and urging folks to make their voice heard via the ballot.
The May Day march in Salem highlighted issues such as immigrant rights, keeping families together and standing up against hate.
On the Capitol steps, OSEA President Tim Stoelb highlighted our nation’s history as a safe haven for immigrants to build a better life.
“Sadly, there is still a close-minded minority who selfishly guard the benefits of the American Dream for themselves,” Stoelb said. “We are a country of immigrants — not elitists. We want everyone to live the American Dream as it was meant to be: One without walls.”
